Eid ul Fitr is the beautiful reward to 30 days of perpetual fasting. With eid just around the corner, everyone is mind working on what they shall wear on the day of traditional fun gathering with friends and family. While it should not be your priority task for the last 10 days of blessed Ramadan, working out on your Eid outfit should consume less than an hour for a couple of days. Not more than that!
So let’s get started, we aim to have an outfit that is smart, traditional and beautiful and would not melt us down in this summer heat.
Light Weight:
When going out for eid prayers, wear a day dress that is light and minimal to carry on without any hassle and make your prayer in comfort and ease. A beautiful georgette Kaftan is ideal to beat this summer hear. Match the look with a complimenting hijab and you are good to go. For our hijabi ladies, a beautiful abaya or jilbaab in summer colors or classic black will suffice as the prayer outfit, wear a color print stole or scarf to get that special eid feel.
Minimalist:
A long summer print skirt with matching accessories is an easy way to dress up for eid. Wear beautiful color inspired arm candies; bracelets or bangles as per your preference and grab onto a sling bag, or a clutch if you are meaning to spend the day out. As for our hijabi beauties, a cool fabric and modest embroidered abaya with a matching scarf or stole (your own preference) and a stylish clutch is the minimalist approach for your eid outing. To keep it cool in this summer heat, I would suggest wearing a comfy light shade tee and pants on the inside.
Traditional:
With markets flaring up with long anarkalis, gorgeous A-line salwar kameez in a variety of embroideries, pick a color that suits you in the most perfect way. Go for churidars, for palazzos, for flared anarkalis, there is no limit in choice when it comes to being traditional in our part of the world!
Ethnic Fusion:
Now if you really want to look smart and stand apart from the crowd then you have got to try the ethnic fusion, where traditional meets the trendy style. For instance a beautiful aari embroidered silk jacket topped over a pair of jeans will look fantabulous on this Eid. Cool, comfortable and stylish at the same time, what else would you want to wear.
Accessories:
What outfit is complete without accessories? Match with your outfit stunning jewelry; rings, pendants, bracelets, fancy hijab pins and more! Whatever you like, whatever adds to your look, just go for it.
This Eid look different; look gorgeous and charming in your own beautiful skin. Eid is after all, a gathering of friends and family, quality time filled with love, fun and laughter!
And lastly, let each one of us be thankful for being who we are, grateful to be together with friends and family, to have a palate of dishes at iftaar, to break our fasts with a feast on eid when there are those in other parts of the world, less privileged than us, who are on verge of being starved, struggling day in and out for mere survival. Lend out a helping hand, this Eid, while you dress up; make sure to help dress someone else for this eid as well. Need not be a large expensive one, a small amount that ensures a new and pretty dress for the one who can’t afford, maybe a beautiful scarf that puts on a smile across her face with an intention to please your Lord.
Do share with us, what you shall be wearing on this Eid. Have a blessed and beautiful Eid, that is to say in advance!
